Brian Brown
The
shock of the terrible accident at last year's show when Brian Brown
was tragically killed , has been felt throughout the flying display
community, of which Brian was a well liked and professional pilot.
His death has left a terrible void within the lives of his flying
colleagues, and the memory of his expert display flying and his
likeable character will be greatly missed.
The airshow committee, wish to commemorate his life by unveiling a plaque to his memory at this year's airshow. It is sincerely hoped that his close colleagues will be able to attend the airshow and the short memorial service over the weekend which will be attended by the display pilots and crews.
I knew Brian as a display pilot over many years and remember well when he, with his business partner Tony Smith, flew the black Hurricane and pink Spitfire at the Shoreham Airshow some years ago. Although based in Yorkshire they were always very keen in coming to our RAFA show and felt it was a worthwhile cause to be involved in.
May his memory live on.
