The Local Area

Shoreham-by-Sea is situated between the glorious Sussex coast and the South Downs. The South Downs are designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, famous for it's unique chalk downland landscape and wildlife. Amongst the rolling hills can be be found Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre, home to a fascinating array of exhibits from our industrial past.

Thw town of Shoreham itself has existed since Norman times and is home to 11th Century Church of St Mary de Haura. Shoreham also boasts one of one of the oldest secular building in the country (built in the 12th Century) which is now home to the Marlipins Museum.

Just situated 6 miles to the west of Brighton, Shoreham is near to a thriving night-life scene as well as superb fashionable shopping areas. The beaches at Shoreham, Worthing and Brighton cater for all tastes, whether it's relaxation or water sports such as windsurfing or kite-boarding.
